Department of Bengali

Dum Dum Motijheel College of Commerce renamed as Dum Dum Motijheel Rabindra Mahavidyalaya, in the academic session 2006-2007. In the initial stage only pass course in Bengali were taught in this College. Honours affiliation in Bengali was granted by the University of Calcutta in the academic session 2007- 2008. In the academic session 2008-2009, this college and the Department of Bengali changed the affiliation from The University of Calcutta to The West Bengal State University. The Department has a good academic record. At present four well qualified teachers are teaching Bengali language and literature. In each academic session there are so many activities in the department such as Celebration of Matribhasa Divas, Departmental Seminar, Students' Seminar, Teachers' day Celebration, Departmental Wall Magazine, Educational Tour, Agamani Utsav. It has a departmental library based on the curriculum of West Bengal State University Under Graduate Course.
