The Department of English began its journey with the establishment of the college in 1968.However,it was then a department that catered to compulsory language teaching to the students.Gradually the college ceased to be only a Commerce college and was transformed into a multi faculty institution that promised to reach out to students pursuing Humanities and Science ( Geography, Economics).The department of English got a separate status and soon after in 2009, the Honours Department started to function.Thereafter,the department has been heralding a steady progress.It is one of the most vibrant departments in the institution as in some way or the other it caters to the needs of students in every department.The teachers and the learners enjoy academic interaction.All the teachersof the Department try to reach out to all the students to help them in their holistic wellbeing.
