Department of Journalism

The department of Journalism and Mass Communication was established in the year 2008 in our college. B. A. (H) in Journalism and Mass communication was introduced in 2011 initially affiliated to University of Calcutta but later to West Bengal State University. From the very inception, our students have performed extremely well and a number of of them are well placed in several newspaper houses, television and radio channels as well as online news portals viz. Bartamaan, Uttarbanga Sangbad, Radio Mirchi, Bangla. Eastpost.in and so on. Apart from regular studies, we organise regular workshops and different types of extra-curricular activities such as poster competitions, debate, film shows, documentary making contests, etc. to involve the students with the subject and develop their overall knowledge about the subject. Our learned faculties are always there to support our students and encourage them to achieve their goals during as well as after completion of their course.
