The department of Philosophy of our college started functioning from the year 2009 under the affiliation of West Bengal State University. This department is offers only the B. A General course in Philosophy. Presently there are two faculties serving the department. Besides that, some renowned and eminent professors have enriched our students byparticipating in many seminars, webinars, workshops through their lectures in this department.
It is with great honour and enthusiasm that I address you today from the Head of the Department's desk, providing insight into the profound realm that is the Department of Philosophy. At the heart of our department lies a commitment to critical thinking and the exploration of fundamental questions about existence, knowledge, ethics, and the nature of reality itself. Through our courses, seminars, and research endeavours, we provide students with the tools to analyze complex ideas, engage in rigorous debate, and develop a deeper understanding of the world around them. Our faculty members are not just scholars; they are mentors, guiding students on their intellectual journey and inspiring them to push the boundaries of their own thinking. With expertise spanning a wide range of philosophical traditions and disciplines, our faculty fosters an environment of intellectual curiosity and academic excellence. One of the hallmarks of our department is our commitment to interdisciplinary inquiry. Our students are the lifeblood of our department. In closing, I want to express my deepest gratitude to our Principal, colleagues and beloved students and all the staffs for their passion, their dedication, and their unwavering commitment to excellence.
